Plan B Alternative Provision is a local organisation dedicated to supporting young people across Hampshire and the South East of the UK who are unable to engage with mainstream education. The organisation offers a nurturing environment where students can develop vocational skills and gain qualifications, primarily within the local marine industry. Additionally, Plan B integrates core subjects like Maths and English into everyday life, empowering students to transition successfully into further education, employment, and training.
To enhance Plan B’s online presence, community engagement, and branding, I was tasked with designing a user-friendly website which reflects the organisation’s core philosophy and mission while maintaining a professional yet welcoming tone.
Objective
The website objective is to serve as an accessible hub for students, parents, and stakeholders, providing clear information about Plan B’s services, ethos, and success stories.
Key Features:
User-Friendly Navigation: A streamlined menu for easy access to key sections, including Programs, About Us, News, and Contact.
Engaging Visuals: High-quality imagery showcasing students participating in hands-on learning experiences.
Responsive Design: A fully mobile-optimized layout ensuring accessibility across all devices.
Call-to-Action (CTA): Clearly placed CTAs to encourage inquiries and engagement from prospective students and partners.
Blog and Updates Section: To share success stories, upcoming events, and insights into alternative education.
The website successfully increased engagement, making it easier for students and families to access essential information. It also helped Plan B connect with potential donors, employers, and educational institutions.
Objective:
To create a professional and visually appealing newsletter template that keeps parents, students, and stakeholders informed about Plan B’s activities, achievements, and upcoming opportunities.
Key Features:
Consistent Branding: Use of Plan B’s color scheme and logo to reinforce brand identity.
Structured Layout: Sections for key updates, student success stories, upcoming events, and important announcements.
Engaging Typography and Imagery: To make the newsletter visually appealing and readable.
Mobile-Friendly Design: Ensuring accessibility across different devices and email platforms.
The newsletter has improved communication, increased community involvement, and provided a platform to highlight the achievements of students and staff, further spreading Plan B’s ethos.
Objective
To design a set of greeting cards that could be used for various occasions, such as student achievements, thank-you notes, and holiday greetings, reinforcing Plan B’s supportive and community-focused approach.
Key Features:
Custom Illustrations: Featuring elements related to education, community, and the marine industry.
Personalized Messages: Tailored to different occasions, reflecting Plan B’s nurturing and encouraging environment.
High-Quality Print Design: Ensuring a professional look while maintaining an inviting and warm aesthetic.
The greeting cards provided a personal touch in Plan B’s communication, strengthening relationships with students, parents, and partners while reinforcing the organisation’s supportive nature.
Through a well-designed website, an engaging newsletter template, and thoughtful greeting cards, Plan B Alternative Provision has enhanced its outreach, improved communication, and strengthened its brand identity. These creative solutions support the organisation’s mission to provide a place to belong and ensure that no child is left behind.
